Mike Epps calls Kevin Hart “Overrated” – Kevin fires back hard

Post By RelatedRelated Post

A brewing feud between comedians is starting to get pretty ugly.    It’s not that often when two high-profile personalities air their dirty laundry, but with all the success that Kevin Hart has had lately, you expect that there is going to be some competition.  This particular feud is coming from Mike Epps.

Mike Epps got his first big break by serving as the replacement to Chris Tucker in the “Friday” series, produced by Ice Cube.  Ice Cube has helped a lot of comedians get major opportunities, but for some reason, Epps was not included in the last Ice Cube project, “Ride Along.”

Kevin Hart, Epps’ replacement, brought in more money and bigger numbers at the box office.  This appears to have been the source of jealousy and resentment from Epps, who fired some pretty evil shots at Hart on a recent radio interview.   On “DeDe in the Morning” on K104 in Dallas, Epps called out Kevin as an “overrated comedian.”

Specifically, Epps said that Hart is “loud, silly,” and completely … “overrated.”

Kevin was expected to be the bigger man and not respond to Epps.  But since Hart is only 5 feet 2 inches tall, it’s not easy for him to be bigger than anything.  So, Hart came back at Epps on social media.

“Until you do better with your ticket sales, leave Kevin Hart’s name out your mouth,” he said.

Hart then fired off another set of insults that were actually pretty funny.  He first made fun of Epps for not having anything to do, since he has fallen off a little bit.  He then goes in and tells Epps to actually kill himself.  You can see the nasty tweets down below.  It’s getting real ugly in here.

  1. Rodney Thomas Earl Dixon I Ever heard of Roseanne Barr and her mate.Tommy A.

  2. Why should Hart keep quite? Seems like Epps is pass his prime But he was as funny as Hart in the Beginning!!

  3. ALL Blacks do not "hate each OTHER"…our problems are INTERNAL…we're inherently fulla SELF-hatred & low self-esteem & STILL suffer from the "Willie Lynch" syndrome (look it up if you don't know what i mean)…which means INTERNALLY,(MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY) WE "HATE" OURSELVES!!!! which is why Black men are so self-destructive towards each other…ALWAYS willing to resort to IMMEDIATE violence as a way of resolving differences/problems & our Black women won't let their GOD GIVEN NATURAL BEAUTY show thru…doing ALL kindsa things to alter their NATURAL looks, of course there's a LOT more to these statements but bottom line here is we are WAAYY past "400 yrs." & WE'RE STILL THE ONLY CULTURE/RACE OF PEOPLE WHO INSIST ON REMAINING TOTALLY SELF-DESTRUCTIVE…(which is EXACTLY WHY no other races/cultures will EVER truely respect us)…

  4. No fraternity, but keep this in mind: TOGETHER WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. Thiers other ways to make yourself relavant, then tearing another black man down in the process

  5. Personally, I am not impressed with either Hart or Epps. Their comedy appeals to the lowest denominator of our mentality. An idiot can get a laugh, but so too can a genius. Yes, comedy should amuse us, but it should also raise our consciousness. Tired of the baffoonary, four letter words, the mf’s etc. Check Lance Miller’s post of May 3rd. We can do better than this because we are better than this.

  6. Rodney Thomas Earl Dixon I, consider that there are probably plenty of these types of things going on between "White" comedians, producers, directors, and singers. The difference is they are not tossed into the limelight. That might be another question to ask.

  7. @Harrison Moore, no what it means is that we need to stop acting like middle school kids. Try supporting one another instead of coming at each other on radio, tv and all of the social media sites. That is one of our race down falls.

  8. I’m sorry, but Kevin Hart IZZ overrated. I said that a couple of years ago, that he is only doing dried up jokes from previous comedians and all he does is laugh at his own jokes. Mike Epps, I’m sorry is funny as hell. And he is very original. Kevin sit your ass down somewhere, talking about someone is not working. All the man said is that in his opinion, you’re overrated which you are, like there aren’t other funny comedians out there. I know that producers want who is bringing in the bucks, but just because you are in demand, does not mean that you are not overrated. His talent does not match his success. Much like garbage hip hop, kids buy it, garbage comedy people buy it.

  9. Come on guys you are better than this! DON'T DO THIS!!

  10. Harrison Moore or more like it is self hate and jealousy. We hate each other more than any other group, why do you think so many black people kill other black people, young, old, women every weekend. All over this country every weekend. These black killers never kill white people. They know they could never get away with doing that.

  11. Dave 'Davey D' Cook so what ? you can't do everything white people do. Although I do think hart is overrated, and he left his black wife and children once he start getting paid.

  12. Harrison Moore
YEP, Bruh no one in the world has Our Backs.
We must learn operational Unity, like the Asians & the Jews.
You never hear about them in this country, spitting venom @ each other like Us and white folkz.

  13. In my world it's ridiculous to compare them to comedians of different eras. Comparison amongst peers makes sense to me. However, I have never found Mike Epps to be funny. I saw him in a movie, I didn't know he was actually in it and that sealed it for me. Since that encounter there has been not one time I've said, "Mike Epps is hilarious." However, Kevin, I think is funny and has worked it. Mike is jealous because of that and used Kevin to garner attention. It worked. That doesn't translate into money. Sorry Mike.

  14. I don't know why some of us black folks act that way when someone else is reaching up at the top of the bucket. Always there to bring you down. True statement Bomani Asad.

  15. Petty shit

  16. I think Kevin is overated and the like to person before said, “the powers to be wants to use him and he probably where Mike draw the line. As black Afrkan Americans, born in AmeriKKK, need to come together and build our own communities and be for one another who will come as one (UNITE). I will not pay a red cent to go see Kevin and I love Ice Cube. He was probably told to use Kevin and he had no other choice. Yes, please keep our disagreements with one another away from the media. They will concur and divide us always.

Kevin you on top so you think at this time, you need to talk with Denzel Washington, he stood under Ossie Davis, Sydney Poiter. And to me Mike Epps is right along with Eddie Griffrin, D.L. Hughly, Bernnie Mack, Richard Pryor, Fred Sandford. Kevin, in my opinion his big toe will not fit none of those shoes. Keep looking up Mike.

  17. Although I really despise Kevin Hart’s comedy, Mike Epp’s made himself look small, petty, and jealous hearted. If he couldn’t say anything good, he should have said nothing at all. I long for the day when we as Black people root for each other and cheer each other on instead of tear each other down. Maybe Epp’s has an attitude problem and that’s why he was replaced by Ice Cube in the first place. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

  18. meant sound's like

  19. He's not the only one who does not care for Kevin Hart. And just bc we are black does not mean I have to like him or fake it so the "white" world thinks we are still singing "Kumbayah

  20. Who cares!!

  21. Stop it and stop it now, you both are looking bad, stand up and help some of your folks (BLACK PEOPLE) and stop hurting each other.

  22. Incredibly greatest man toasts, nicely toasts. is directed building your own by way of the wedding celebration as a result are supposed to try to be witty, amusing and consequently unusual as effectively as. finest mans speech

  25. Wohh just what I was seeking for, appreciate it for putting up.

  26. Kevin Hart is overrated. He is loud and fake laughs at his own jokes to get you to laugh with him. His routine is getting old. Yes I was a fan when he 1st came out but now its if youve seen 1 Kevin Hart standup show or comedy movie, youve seen them all. Not hating at all. Just giving an honest opinion. Reading these comments its funny how you all think just because we are black we should always hold our tongue and just support any and everything another black person does. No you support what you like, thats why we have individual minds.
