Kwame_in_jail_20100526115253_640_480Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is going to prison for a very long time.   He received 28 years in prison for over a dozen charges.
The charges include racketeering, extortion and filing false tax returns.   He apologized to the court afterward.
“I say with every morsel of my being that I’m sorry to you,” he said.
Judge Nancy G. Edmunds seemed determined to make the former mayor into an example to show that corruption would not be tolerated.
“That way of business is over. We’re done. We’re moving forward.,” she said.
Do you think its hypocritical that Kilpatrick received such a long sentence while corrupt wall Street bankers are allowed to go free?

  1. Dang Ginaaaa that's a long time

  2. His name made him pay.

  3. Of course it’s hypocritical that he got prison time and those lying theives didn’t. But that’s mainstream American justice for you.

  4. That's way to Much Time Master Judge, i Think You Are over Using Your powers In a Hypocritical fram of mind

  5. this just shows how unjust the court system is…this is just to much time some killers don't even get this…Just sad to hear

  6. The brother made mistakes, but he shouldn't be treated any different than the white politicians and bankers who were guilty of the same crimes. It would be nice to see President Obama pardon him and other blacks who received excessive sentences in the white judicial system.

  7. Way too much time, 3-5 would have been more appropriate, beside I think the space it needed for more violent criminals.

  8. Fucking crazy!! This is why I won't even fuck with marijuana, even in states where its legal. For the same crimes blacks will get railroaded in order to turn the torques of the criminal justice systems factory system. No thanks.

Black men. Trust almost no one and practice the highest ethics because your enemies will magnify and compound your infractions 1000 fold.

Think i'm kidding. Research David Dinkins backlash when his enemies discovered a NYC vehicle found itself in Long Island when his pal Reginald Lewis' house burned down – suspiciously. Or, when Governor Patterson was mobbed for going to a yankees game with his son, as a sitting governor.

  9. Corruption goes higher than him, why the hell these banks wasn't held responsible for their parts in the recession. Ijs

  10. That is excessive! I think they just through the book at him because of the bankruptcy. SMH

  11. Hell yes

  12. We have different laws for black ppl and this shows that no matter what statues you have as a black person in america. ….the system will eat uou up.

  13. I CAN HONESTLY SAY AFTER WORKING IN THE PRISON SYSTEM FOR SO LONG AND SEEING ALL THE BLACK FACES AND READING ALL THE CASE LOGS AND SHAKING MY HEAD…. HERE IS A FACE I AM TRULY OVER JOYED TO SEE BEHIND BARS. I HAVE NEVER WANTED TO SEE A BLACK MAN BEHIND BARS AS I MUCH AS I WANTED TO SEE THIS ONE…. GOD MOVES IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS ….. I WILL NEVER FORGET THE TIME YOU PUSHED MY LITTLE DAUGHTER DOWN WHEN WE WERE AT THE SOUL CIRCUS. I YELLED TO YOU THEN, "GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY", ITS NICE TO SEE UR UGLY ASS LOCKED AWAY TO THINK ABOUT SOME OF THE DUMB SHIT U DID. OH BY THE WAY STEALING IS WRONG, FOR EVERYBODY!! IN CASE U DIDN'T KNOW THAT…… THINK ABOUT IT DUMB ASS.

  14. Don't mess with a African American mans daughter especially when he works in the prison system

  15. Crazy sentence. Always finding a way to make an example of the black man.

  16. I was in Detroit when he was Mayor, And when i saw him and his boy,s around the city they they better than people, his wife was the same way! So i say FUCK HIM!

  17. The question asked at the end is practically a non-argument. The people responsible for pursuing Kilpatrick’s case are not responsible for taking down the Wall Street Bankers. While I am convinced that the speculators on WS should face legal action, that is not the issue being discussed here. Kilpatrick is one of a large list of corrupt personnel that are responsible for the financial misery that Detroit citizens have been facing in the past, are facing now, and probably will be facing in the future. Before we try to compare this case to Wall Street, think of the ordinary Detroit families that have come to financial ruin as a result of this man, and his predecessors. Should he go to jail? YES.

  18. I dont know, when will we black African-Americans
recognize this America belongs to white American. They
Have aways done things their way. We keep trying to join them.
When we are penalized and given more harsh sentences than
White folk we complain. When voted into any public
Office know youve got to live above board like those long befor
Us. There are more of them that hate us than not. To
Get on my soap box, Dr.Martin King was a praying man.
The Civil Rights leaders were GOD fearing men and women.
We arent thankful anymore. We act like we've achieved on our
Own. The sooner we go back to our roots and pray again, the
Sooner we'll segregate our oweselves from our oppresso
The better we'll. Momma may papa may but lets get
Our OWN. Out of the mouth of our 1st African- Amercan
    president `YES WE CAN.'

  19. You all sticking up for the Greedy Bastard Why? Cause hes a brotha? the first thing he did when YOU! All voted him in was turn his back on YOU!! and when it goes bad the same motherfuuckin Song starts it Whitey this and . Kracker that. Dont you all under stand He fucucked! His own! YOU!
