Police Use “Minimum Force” to Disarm White Man Dressed in Full Body Armor

Eric Garner was chοked to deαth by an NYPD cop on suspicion of selling loose cigarettes, while Brandon GibbsJohn Crawford was gunned down in an Ohio Walmart while carrying a pellet gun. If justice were blind in this country, then a white man who was armed to the teeth should have been taken out immediately.

Instead, officers with the Gonzales Police Department patiently coaxed the man out of his apartment so he could be safely taken into custody.

Brandon D. Gibbs, 29, is with the “sovereign citizen” movement and was wearing body armor with a knife strapped to his chest, a Kevlar helmet, and was also armed with pepper spray when he was confronted by police on Tuesday.

Gibbs, who has a history of making threαts, was accused of having made threαtening phone calls to Gonzales City Hall. He is a part of the sovereign citizen movement which does not recognize state or federal authority.

“When the police officers knocked on Gibbs’ door, he opened it a few inches and ‘demanded to see the officers’ hands,’ police said. The officers backed away, and Gibbs eventually stepped out of the doorway. He was wearing full body armor, a Kevlar helmet with a plastic face shield, camouflage pants and a shirt, and held a can of pepper spray in his hand,” NOLA.com reports.

Gibbs actually refused to drop the can of pepper spray and walked in the direction of an officer with it, but he still wasn’t injured by police. Instead, another officer pepper sprayed Gibbs underneath his face mask and used what the department calls “minimum force” to disarm the man.

According to NOLA.com, “Gibbs was charged on suspicion of attempted aggravated battery, resisting an officer, possession of schedule I narcotics, illegal possession of body armor in the presence of narcotics and improper telephone communications.”

  3. If you google Brandon Gibbs and Gonzales City Hall many news articles come up about this story. At which point it's easy to see they are newspapers in New Orleans and other LA towns. Then it's relatively simple to know this article is completely legitimate.

  4. The police are in mortal fear of domestic, white, right-wing terrorist groups. They are very careful to pamper them because they shoot back. Consider this recent event…..; http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2014/04/11/3425659/armed-right-wing-militias-descend-on-nevada-to-h

  5. I live in Louisiana. Gonzales is about 20 miles from Baton Rouge.

  6. Straight bullshit. A Black man can't get a break. I just don't understand why a Back man is so intimidating to a white police officer. What has happened to our society? If this had been a group of Black people grazing their cattle illegally on Federal Land, they would have all been dead. These punk police or federal officers or whatever they are left the scene due to the possibility of harming the public. They were'n't worried about harming the public when they shot Michael Brown in Ferguson nor choking Eric Garner to death in NY..
