Pink, a 13-year-old Thai girl who Kim Kardashian tried to adopt on a recent episode of her reality TV show, has pollitely declined Kardashian’s offer to whisk her off to a life of luxury. Pink lives in a Thai orphanage because her mother could not afford to take care of her. Pink says she did like Kim and had no idea she was a celebrity.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Pink stated, “When she came here, it seemed as if I was the first one she looked at and smiled at. We had a connection straight away. I think she is really pretty and she has a very nice personality.” Although Pink, whose real name is Laddawan Tong-Keaw, says that her mother gave her permission to go live with Kim, she says that she does not want to leave the other children , who are like brothers and sisters to her.
The Daily Mail reports that Pink is “an outstanding scholar.” One of the other reasons she gave for not wanting Kim to adopt her is that she wants to be able to help her country. Pink did not take long to make her decision to stay, reportedly saying no almost immediately when she was asked by the orphanage’s supervisor if she was interested in allowing Kim to adopt her.
Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, reportedly scolded Kim for treating adoption like a shopping spree. Kim reassured Jenner that her feelings for Pink were real and not whimsical. Kim was apparently oblivious to the fact that Pink’s mother was not in fact an orphan and that her mother was present at the home through Kim’s entire visit. The Home and Life Foundation is located in Phan Nga, Thailand and cares for a total of 25 children. The home uses donations to care for the children, who they raise as a family.
