A person who only identified herself as Josie phoned into a radio program to give Officer Darren Wilson’s version of events that led up to the fatal shoοting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.
According to her, Wilson fatally shot Brown after the teen “bum rushed” the officer, but a witness at the scene contradicted that story during an interview with CNN.
Piaget Crenshaw, who witnessed the shoοting and recorded the aftermath, says Brown never charged at Wilson. According to Crenshaw, Wilson gave chase while firing at Brown, and once Brown turned around, Wilson gunned down the teen.
“From it all initially happening, I knew this was not right,” she told CNN’s “New Day” on Monday.
“I knew the police shouldn’t even have been chasing this young boy and firing at the same time. The fact that he got shot in the face, it was something that clicked in me, like no, somebody else needs to see this. This isn’t right. I’ve got to record.”
This contradicts the police version of evens, which maintains that there was a struggle and Brown charged at Wilson. Josie told the radio station that Brown struggled with Offcr. Wilson for the gun, then ran, taunted the officer, then charged at Wilson.
“…Michael takes off with his friend. They get to be about 35 feet away and Darren [Wilson], of course protocol is to pursue. So he stands up and yells, ‘Freeze!’ Michael and his friend turn around and Michael starts taunting him. ‘Oh, what are you going to do about it? You’re not gonna shoot me,” said Josie, who claims to be friends with Wilson’s significant other.
In addition, Crenshaw made no mention of ever hearing Wilson yell “Freeze!” at Michael Brown as he was running.
