The Plan B pill is expected to impact black teenagers more than white ones, according to scientists and published reports. Two weeks ago, the Department of Health and Human Services decided that women under the age of 17 should not be allowed to get the pill without a prescription.The Plan B pill costs $50 and allows the user to stop a pregnancy from occurring within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. The pill cannot, however, abort an actual pregnancy. It was recommended by the FDA that the pill be made available for adults under 17, but the Department of Health and Human Services decided against it.
