Comedian Kevin Hart is best known for embedding the truth deep within a funny joke. And that’s exactly what he did when he met Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston after a performance last weekend.
Hart met with some FSU football players, including Winston, who has been embroiled in scandals as of late. The comic told Winston flatly: “Stop doing dumb sh*t.”
The Heisman trophy winner was once accused of sεxual assaυlt, but charges were not filed in that case. There have also been a host of odd incidents involving Winston, such as the player being accused of stealing crab legs.
“Leon County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Michael Wood said Wednesday that the 20-year-old Winston ordered the food at the deli in a Tallahassee, Fla.-area Publix on Tuesday night. After receiving the order, he left the store without paying,” ESPN reported at the time.
“Wood said Publix employees called deputies, who went to Winston’s apartment. Wood said Winston was “very cooperative” in a post-Miranda interview and acknowledged not paying for the food, saying he forgot.”
“The facts are not in dispute,” Wood added. “He left without paying.”
“He indicated to the deputies he had forgotten and when he got home he realized that he had not paid, but in fact he had made no effort to contact Publix or return to pay prior to the deputies’ arrival” three hours later, Wood said.
In addition to the crab leg stealing incident, Winston was suspended for yelling obscenities in the student union.
So Kevin Hart seems to be trying to give Winston a bit of tough love in making fun of him and demanding that he stop doing “dumb sh*t” so that he has a chance of being successful.
