Mother allegedly kidnaps daughter to avoid black history lesson

Normally when people want to keep their children out of school to home-school them, it is because they want to bond with their child or because they feel that the schools aren’t up to the task. In these cases, the parent will fill out paperwork to have the child home-schooled and go through all of the proper channels to make sure that their child still gets credit for everything that they are doing. One Florida mother, however, was so adamantly against what the school was going to teach her daughter that she kidnapped her.

Meghan Elizabeth Everett, 22, took her two year old daughter and left. She left a note for her boyfriend, Carlos Lesters, saying that she didn’t want her daughter to be vaccinated or “brainwashed,” so she was taking the girl and leaving. Lesters has been described as a “Confederate-flag-waving gun enthusiast”. The girl’s father, Robert Baumann, dropped her off at her mother’s house last month, and that was the last time he saw her.

Baumann said that Everett had a huge issue with their daughter Lilly being vaccinated, which many schools require these days. He stated that she also had a big issue with the school teaching her daughter about black history. She wanted Lilly to lean all about the Confederacy, rather than the details of African American history.

Everett’s sister said that she has been making some unsafe choices as of late. Everett is currently facing federal charges of crossing state lines to avoid prosecution and kidnapping. There’s still been no sight of Lilly or her mother. The police are asking for the public’s help in the matter. Their family just wants the little girl home safe. Should her mother be caught, she will be arrested immediately.

  1. How can a mother kidnap her own child?

  2. She more then likely didn't have total custody!

  3. If you have joint custody, you CANNOT, just remove your child from the other parents, knowledge. Going against what the courts state in the agreement. The father MUST pay child support or he will be arrested, so you don't think the mother has to follow rules as well.

  4. At first I was offended and ready to bash her but truthfully I understand her concern. I feel the same way about vaccinations and I hate how my children are brainwashed by American His Story.

  5. Idiot! Doesn't she realize that you can't teach about the confederacy without teaching about Black history? No, I guess she doesn't. Poor little idiot.

  6. White trash.

  7. Oh,um? The extreme huh?

  8. I agree with you 100% Wahid

  9. Most White people don’t want their children to learn what ass-holes their great-great-great grandparents were, they don’t want them to know that they purchased and sold Black people and treated them like dirt on the bottom of their shoes. They also don’t want them to know the contributions that Black people made when they came to this country. My people were very smart, this mother also sounds like a racist White pig! If White people tell their children the truth there will be a lot of questions that they will have to answer and they don’t want to do this!

    • First of all, thank you for saying “Most”. That means we’ve made at least a little progress. I’m white, and I happen to agree with you. People keep saying Black folks need to “do better”, but we white folks certainly need to do better too. Watching white people get educated on race issues is like watching a glacier melt. It’s going to take a looooooong time.

My grandparents died in the Holocaust, and I teach my daughter about civil rights and the proper way to interact with all kinds of people – every single day. It’s an ongoing conversation in our house. It’s not the sort of thing you can address just one month a year.

    • Ann G., you hit the nail right on the head.

  10. I certainly understand her point. We really don’t give a rat’s behind about martin luther king and little black sambo and aunt jemima. I hope they are never found for Lily’s sake. Run far and run fast.

    Just shut up.

  12. black history as it is taught in America is definitely brainwashing to assume black people only have histor that extends to slavery and that’s it, as if we just popped up during slavery and never did anything else in the world is definitely brainwashing. however I doubt the Confederate Confederacy has a clear understanding of black history because of their understanding of black history started when they met us but believe it or not people we existed before the Europeans met us.

yes we did I know this is shocking to you so brace yourself but we actually gave education to the Europeans we had a form of education so far advanced we were able to create things like pyramids scientists toay still cannot understand how we did it

teaching black history needs to be black history not the history after Africans sold people identified as Africns into slavery

just because people were found in Africa it does not mean that they came from Africa they lived amongst Africans just like many people identified is African American lived amoungts the Native Americans far before the slave trade.

the Confederacy has nothing to do with African American history and for that reason I agree this woman was practicing some racist belief it has nothing to do with protecting her child I hope they throw the book at her

    • You are right in your statements about Black history. If I may add, Black people are the original peoples all over the planet and we are millions of years old. Ancient Black people were already on this (American) continent just like the first people in Europe were Black…so it was the Native Americans (Asian type) who lived among the Black people here and not the other way around. Check out “The First Americans were Africans” by Dr. David Imhotep. The Washitaw Nation is an indigenous Black people to the Americas that are stlll in existance today … more Black history that is not taught. The BBC also did a documentary on this subject.

  13. I don't agree with this mother's feelings about history whether it's black history or American History, however I feel this is about Parents rights. The story tries to get us all excited about prejudice, but the bigger issue here is the right of a parent to be a parent. Things like this happen and they we turn around and have to show a passport to take our kids out to of our home states on vacation or something. This story lacks facts and this issue is bigger than black history… why would the mother be charged with kidnapping? is there a custody battle?

  14. I feel the same about their history. Our kids needs to know about our story which is the foundation of the world

  15. My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can't believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do,

  19. Lock her confederate trailer ass up under the jail.
