Black Man With Legally Licensed Gun Attacked by White Vigilante

We’ve all heard of driving while black, but now comes a case of exercising your Second Amendment right while black.

Gun rights advocates tout open carry laws as a tool for detouring crime, but one black man carrying a legal firearm was victimized by a white vigilante while exercising his constitutional rights.

Clarence Daniels, 62, was wrestled to the ground by 43 year old Michael Foster. Daniels is black. Foster is white.

While Daniels was shopping at a Florida Walmart, Foster took it upon himself to assαult Daniels for carrying a legally licensed firearm in an open carry state.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Foster had watched Daniels take the gun from his car and put it inside his jacket before entering the store. As Daniels entered the store, he began searching for a coffee label that he’d brought with him so he wouldn’t forget the brand.

“‘He’s got a gun!'” deputies said Foster shouted.

“‘I have a permit!'” Daniels shouted several times, sheriff’s spokesman Larry McKinnon.

Foster tackled Daniels to the ground and placed him in a chοke hold. The men wrestled on the ground until police arrived, broke up the struggle, and arrested Foster.

“Unfortunately he tackled a guy that was a law-abiding citizen,” McKinnon said. “We understand it’s alarming for people to see other people with guns, but Florida has a large population of concealed weapons permit holders.”

McKinnon then cautioned other citizens from taking the law into their own hands.

“You better make sure there’s a good reason,” McKinnon said. “Otherwise you might be confronting a guy that is legally permitted to carry a gun.”

Foster is probably lucky that he wasn’t shot.

  1. Arrested the white man…I'm really surprised. What was the charge?

  2. The Black man should have shot him and used the ‘Stand Your Ground’ Law as his defense.
