A St. Louis family is grieving after two relatives were gunned down on Saturday night.
According to local affiliate KTVI, Margaree Dixson, 35 and her brother Jermaine Jones, 29, were both mυrdered within blocks of one another.
Dixson, whose body was found near an intersection, died within hours of Jones. Both were shοt to deαth.
Police confirmed that Dixson was shot in the head, chest, arms and hand shortly after witnesses reported hearing a series of gunshοts at around 11pm.
It was only two and a half hours later when police responded to reports of more gunfire and found Jones’ body nearby. He was transported to the hospital after suffering multiple gunshοt wounds but was pronounced deαd.
Witnesses told investigators that they were standing with Jones when shοts were fired by an unknown male.
“There’s too much violence going on,” Nicole Rice, sister of both Dixson and Jones, told KTVI. “I can’t sleep. I can’t think. It can’t work. I can’t do anything wondering if my son will be a victim to the streets.”
“When you lost two kids at one time it’s tough,” said friend Ann Carlson. “I mean the same night, back to back, it’s painful.”
The family also needs money to help bury the two victims.
“They don’t have any insurance,” said Carlson. “If anybody could help them or help us out, it will help.”
Although this incident is tragic, it’s become commonplace in communities ravaged by violence.
A Chicago mother lost all four of her children to gun violence.
“It’s not Chicago. It’s these people. It’s these people with these guns. They shouldn’t have guns, you know?” Shirley Chambers told CBS in 2013 after she lost her last child in a shoοting.
