Tracy Morgan is gradually recovering from the auto accident that left him in critical condition and left comedian James McNair dead two weeks ago. Although the comedian broke his nose, ribs, and leg, The Huffington Post reports that the comedian is no longer in the hospital and has now been placed in a rehab facility in fair condition.
Morgan’s assistant, Jeffrey Millea, and comedians Harris Stanton and Ardie Fuqua were also injured in the tragic crash in which Morgan’s limousine bus was hit by a Walmart truck. Morgan’s representative, Lewis Kay, described Millea’s health as improving, but there has been no word on the status of Stanton and Fuqua’s conditions.
Kay recently released a statement to the Hollywood Reporter: “Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks. While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go. He and Megan wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him.”
Police said that the Walmart truck driver involved in the accident had been awake for more than 24 hours when he rear-ended the limo that was carrying Morgan on the morning of June 7th. According to CNN, he was traveling at 65mph, 20mph above the speed limit. He pled not guilty to all charges against him, and is currently free on $50,000 bond.
