NBC Universal, who is being sued by George Zimmerman because he believes that they put his life in danger by doctoring his 911 call to the police on the fateful night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, is asking the judge to dismiss the case completely.

The case had been put on hold until after the verdict for the controversial case, but after Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder last July, the hearing of his case will continue and is set for June 19.

Zimmerman’s lawsuit states that NBC altered the audio tape of his 911 call to make him sound like a racist and to improve their own faltering network ratings.

The lawsuit continues that NBC deliberately doctored the 911 audio in an attempt to create the myth that Zimmerman was a racist and predatory villain so that their ailing ratings for their “Today Show” would take a turn for the better. It adds that NBC stood to gain months, if not years, of profit from their increased ratings of potentially viable topics by making Zimmerman something he is not.

NBC denies that Zimmerman suffered the harm he suggests from their broadcasting of the 911 call and claim that he did not comply with Florida’s statute by requesting them to retract immediately after their broadcast in March 2012. However, they do not deny that the original audio tape was altered in any way.

Zimmerman’s suit alleges that NBC edited the dialogue of his conversation with the 911 operator to bring his words “up to no good,” and “he looks black” even closer together in an attempt to show that he was racially discriminating the 17-year-old Martin right from the start. It also states that NBC falsely accused Zimmerman of using the word “c**ns,” instead of the word he used which was “punks.”

Even after other information has surfaced about how he handled the situation on the night of the fatal incident, one example is his close friend who is now claiming that he shot Martin on purpose and not in self defense, Zimmerman still claims that NBC made him one of the most hated men in America.

Zimmerman is also claiming that the NBC broadcasts are the reason he had to move out of his community in Sanford, FL and now lives the life of a man in hiding and in fear of his life, wearing a bulletproof vest.
