Former Washington D.C. mayor Marion Barry alleges that the FBI had an ulterior motive when they busted him for smoking crack cocaine. According to Barry, they weren’t only trying to ruin his career, but they also wanted him deαd.
During an interview with “Power Players” about Barry’s book “Mayor for Life”, he explained his thinking.
“I just think so, because during the trial the government refused to have that substance tested,”said Barry, referencing the crack cocaine he was smoking when agents burst into his room. “I think that’s kind of strange, don’t you think?”
It may’ve been strange, but how does he make the connection between untested evidence and a mυrder plot? Is he implying that the FBI furnished the woman with a substance that wasn’t crack cocaine?
Barry also discussed mistakes he made on the night he went to a hotel room to smoke crack with a woman who wasn’t his wife.
“That January 18th night, let me just say that one, I shouldn’t have gone to the hotel, shouldn’t of gone up to that room, mistake doing that,” he continued. “I apologized to Rasheeda Moore, she was a victim too; apologized to my wife and son Christopher; apologized to the people of Washington, D.C., and the nation, because this nation is a nation of second chances, and third chances, and fourth chances.”
Barry then shared the advice he gave Clinton about how to withstand a scandal.
“I said, ‘First of all, if you’re in a hole, stop digging. That’s the first thing you do, stop digging,’” Barry told Clinton. “’When you come out of that hole, you don’t need to be feeling sorry for yourself …You have to hold your head high – not arrogantly, but humbly – and you have to have some strong belief in some spiritual being.’”
