What would you do if you were at McDonald’s waiting on your quarter pounder with cheese and a man walked in with a knife stuck in his back? That’s exactly the situation some McDonald’s customers at a New York restaurant faced early Tuesday morning.
Patrons at McDonald’s say that around 10am, a man walked in after having been stαbbed in the back. Customers who saw the knife still sticking from his back quickly set their food aside so they could help the injured man, who’d walked a block from where he’d been stαbbed.
“I heard everybody screaming and it was a lot of commotion,” said witness Tromaine Yancey, according to CBS 2. “The guy came and he was standing there with a knife in his back and it was a kitchen knife.”
The stαbbing reportedly stemmed from a street corner brαwl.
“He was on the phone, I’m pretty sure he was on the phone talking to somebody in his family or a loved one or something, he was talking to them and telling them it might be the last time he’s speaking to them,” Yancey added.
A second witness said that the stαbbing stemmed from a dispute the day before.
“They came and stαbbed him. They had a fιght yesterday,” he said.
“I don’t know if he was in shock or what the situation was, but he was fine! It was like, ‘Just another day in the hood.’”said another worker who did not give his name. “It was crazy!”
He continued: “It’s always rowdy over there because you have all the methadone people.”
The injured man was taken to the hospital and listed in serious condition. An NYPD officer wasn’t sure where the attαck occurred.
