The grandson of rapper/”Law & Order: SVU” star Ice-T has been detained by police for accidentally shooting and killing his roommate.

On Tuesday afternoon, 19-year-old Elyjah Marrow was in his Marietta, Georgia apartment playing around with a hand gun when it unexpectedly went off.  The stray bullet hit Marrow’s roommate, 19-year-old Daryus Johnson, police told the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Johnson was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

“Marrow was not using proper firearm safety when handling the gun,” Marietta Police Officer David Baldwin told the Marietta Daily Journal.  “That reckless handling of the firearm is what led to Johnson being accidentally shot and eventually killed.”

According to New York Daily News, Marrow was charged with involuntary manslaughter, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of a stolen firearm.

Marrow is currently in custody at the Cobb County sheriff’s station while the incident is under investigation, E! News reported.

Marrow had been featured on his grandfather’s E! reality show, Ice Loves Coco.

Ice-T has yet to comment on his grandson’s arrest, but E! News has reached out to him for a statement.
