Witnesses say that a Griffin police officer and father of 7 was only doing his job when a group of drunk racists hurled racial slurs at him then gunned the officer down.
Kevin Jordan, 43, was in uniform while working security outside a Waffle House early Saturday morning when he ran into a group of unruly drunks.
Michael D. Bowman, 30, shοt Officer Kevin Jordan multiple times, kιlling him. The brother of the deceased officer, who was also at the Waffle House at the time, shοt Bowman.
“I don’t want to be bitter,” Raymond Jordan told Channel 2 Action News. “But the only regret I have is that I didn’t kιll him.”
Jordan says the problem stemmed from Bowman’s lack of respect for his brother. He says Bowman, Chantell Mixon and Tyler Taylor were all drunk when they arrived at the Waffle House and wasted no time hurling racial slurs at Officer Jordan.
All three unruly customers were asked to leave at around 2:20a.m. on Saturday, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. This disagreement spilled into the parking lot where Officer Kevin Jordan attempted to arrest Mixon, the girlfriend of Bowman. Officer Jordan was attempting to restrain Mixon when he was shοt by Bowman.
Raymond Jordan was in the parking lot when his brother was gunned down. Although he is not a police officer, he has a permit to carry a gun and often visited his brother at the Waffle House on weekends.
Raymond Jordan was not charged. Bowman and Mixon have both been charged with felony mυrder.
Kevin Jordan had been with the Griffin Police Department for four years. He was also a former Marine.
