On Thursday’s episode of the “Tonight Show,” with host Jimmy Fallon, the American comedian, actor, screenwriter, television and film producer and director, Chris Rock, announced a new tour which is to be called “The Black Plague.”

The 49-year-old who started his career as a standup comedian went on to say that the idea for the name of the tour, which will be his first in about five years, came from Kanye West. He added that he had been talking and hanging out with his friend when West came up with the idea and his first thought was, “Can I use that?”

Rock told Fallon that he hopes the tour will begin around October or November and he is really looking forward to it since his last tour, named “Kill The Messenger,” was in 2008. He added that he was about to spread the black plague all over the world, much to the delight of Fallon, who laughed hysterically.

Fallon also asked Rock about his hosting of the BET Awards, which will occur later this month.

The man who was voted as the fifth greatest stand-up comedian of all time by Comedy Central, jokingly answered that the BET Awards was for everybody, whether they be white or black and it was the only show that would have him sitting next to Michelle Obama. He added that the Oscars didn’t want him anyway.

Rock is also putting the finishing touches to his latest movie, “Finally Famous,” which he wrote, directed, and plays the leading role of a comedian trying to make a name for himself as a serious actor.

After his appearance on “The Tonight Show,” Rock reportedly turned up unexpectedly on the late-night talk show “Late Night,” and gave host Seth Meyers a shock by creeping up behind him.

Rock is also the recipient of several Grammy Awards such as: Best Spoken Comedy Album for “Roll with the New” in 1998 and “Bigger & Blacker” in 2000. He also received the Best Comedy Album Award for his 2006 Album titled “Never Scared.”

Rock also appeared in two films that were released in 2013, namely, “Grown Ups 2” and “Madly Madagascar.”
