Stacey Tisdale is a journalist and author who has covered business and financial issues for more than 15 years. Her book was released in 2007 and is entitled “The True Cost of Happiness: The Real Story Behind Managing Your Money.” It was published by John Wiley & sons.
Tisdale has also partnered with NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott’s All Stars Helping Kids Foundation to develop a financial literacy curriculum for high school students. The name of the curriculum is Winning Play$, and it won the U.S. Department of Education’s Excellence in Economic Education award in 2010 and 2011. The program also won The National Association of Black Journalists Community Service Award.
In addition to that curriculum, she also created a personal finance curriculum aimed at college students. The curriculum is now a mandatory class at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. CUNY schools also offer the curriculum.
Tisdale has also studied the subject of professional athletes financial behavior. She has conducted research for submission to Congress, and she has also created programs for the WNBA, NFL, and corporations such as the Washington Mystics, the New York Giants, and Microsoft that teach financial education and life skills programs.
Tisdale appears as a financial contributor on NBC’s Today Show and AriseTV. She also blogs for the Huffington Post and reports for Al Jazeera America. In the past, Tisdale has worked for the CNN family of networks, CBS, Wall Street Journal Television, and CNBC.
She has also appeared as a financial contributor in Oprah’s O magazine and Essence magazine.
