Will Smith is widely known for starring in such blockbuster films as Independence Day, Men In Black, and Bad Boys, but before Smith was an actor, he was a rapper. Smith got his start in entertainment as the MC of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
The group was most known for the tracks “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and “Summertime.” The duo won the first ever Grammy awarded in the Rap category in 1988.
Smith began his solo career in 1997 with the release of Big Willie Style. He went on to sell more than 20 million albums worldwide as a solo artist.
His most recent album was Lost and Found and was released in 2005.
Smith won multiple American Music Awards, three additional Grammy’s, and multiple MTV Video Music Awards. These awards include such categories as Best Soul/R&B Male Artist, Best Rap Video, and Best Male Video.
Smith is now married to Jada Pinkett Smith, and they have two children, daughter Willow and son Jaden. Smith also has a son, Trey, from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino. He has his family are currently living in Los Angeles.
