An Ohio teaching assistant has been sentenced for having sεx with a student even though he told police that he was a happily married man.
Teaching assistant Brandon Lampley initially insisted upon his innocence, but the teaching assistant pleaded guilty to the charges earlier this month.
Judging from evidence collected by police, Lampley wasn’t the happily married man he pretended to be. Cell phone evidence proved he’d had sεx with at least 10 other women. The other women were adults, but Lampley was still convicted of having sεx with a 16 year old student.
Lampley’s pregnant wife stood by her husband, saying “we all make mistakes”, according to Cincinnati.com. The 16 year old victim also told the judge that she takes responsibility for her role in the affair and asked the judge for mercy.
“I personally cannot live with myself,” the girl told the judge, “knowing that actions I had something to do with is ruining someone else’s life and family.”
Although the girl’s mother was proud of the courage displayed by her daughter, she was bothered that her daughter felt partially responsible for what had transpired.
“My daughter feels guilt, shame and embarrassment,” said the teen girl’s mother. “She’s lost her self-esteem, her zest for life, her dynamic personality, her smile and her laugh.”
The mother added: “We are not good. We are not even OK. We’re just trying to find a way to get by right now.”
Judge Ralph Winkler sentenced Lampley to four years behind bars for having sεx with the student.
