Remember this? A young Mike Tyson explains why he dominates grown men

Mike Tyson used to be the baddest man on the planet.  In fact, he could make grown men cry and take on anyone on earth.  The only opponent Mike couldn’t defeat was himself.

We know how great Muhammad Ali was and how his story ended so tragically.  Evander Holyfield is now bankrupt and struggling from all of the children he’s made over the years.   The only boxer who seems to be doing pretty good is George Foreman.  There are probably others, but the media won’t report those stories.

Tyson is trying to resurrect his career and his life with a series of movie appearances and other events that are designed to get the public’s attention.  Mike deserves a second chance, and it almost seems like he’s got some of his demons under control.

This video is from Mike when he was still at the top of his game.  He says that when he goes into the ring, he plans to go to the distance and is always prepared to do his best.  He doesn’t think about power, or about knocking people out right away.  He just goes into the fight hoping to have a chance to win.

Tyson was compared to Joe Frazier due to his size and power, but Tyson doesn’t agree with the comparison.  He says that he and Frazier are very different fighters, both great in their own way.  He also says that he thinks it’s weak to look at another man and try to emulate him.

The video is good.  Check it out.

  2. Mike was great as a boxer, but how can you even put Tyson and Hollyfield in the same sentence as Muhammad Ali? Tragically? Ali is alive, did more than Tyson and all the others could ever dream to do for the dignity of Black people. I sometimes wonder about you writers and your silly pieces….Even the title is misleading…SMH
