Rapper Tyga could be facing six months in jail for having a pet. His pet is a tiger, which is not just your run-of-the-mill house cat. The tiger was taken from the Young Money rapper by wildlife officers who’d received a tip from an undisclosed source that the vicious felid was being held as a house pet at Tyga’s California home. When the wildlife warden showed up to Tyga’s home, the tiger had already been placed in a shelter where he could be taken care of. They do not know how long Tyga has owned the tiger, but he hasn’t made an effort to try and hide the fact that he owned one. He would post photos on Instagram of the tiger and also took videos of himself playing with the animal.
The officials went to the shelter where the seven-month-old Bengal tiger was being taken care of and brought him to a state facility. The rapper claimed that he initially did not know that it was illegal to own this type of pet; however, as soon as he found out that it was illegal, he took the steps necessary to place the animal in the shelter. The ownership of the tiger could end up in a misdemeanor charge for owning a prohibited species.
Unfortunately for Tyga, this is not the only legal trouble that he is facing at this time. It was also told that he owes money to the government for back taxes. TMZ released a report that showed that he owed $11,201 for the 2009 tax year, $4,437 for the 2010 year, and $76,008 for the 2011 tax year. The total of $91,648 does not include any fees or penalties that the government or the IRS may impose on him for failing to pay his taxes on time.
