Every athlete needs to understand that there is life after sports. Let me say it this way. When your sports career is over, you need to have a plan for your life. You can’t live off the glory days of the past, because it’s simply that – the past. You need to have a plan.
Hall of Fame Football great, Michael Strahan has done just that. After retiring from the New York Giants, Strahan didn’t just relax. He decided to get into television and has become very successful with it. I need to reiterate this point again. There is life after sports and what you do with it is totally up to you.
Previous reports from a couple of weeks ago stated that ‘the former footballer and current co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael was about to close a deal to join the Good Morning America team. Strahan would continue his duties alongside Kelly Ripa and contribute to GMA‘s coverage prior to reporting for duty at Live!, where he has co-hosted since 2012.’
Before you start assuming that Strahan’s addition will affect the current lineup of GMA, sources have confirmed that Strahan will not affect the current roles of Ginger Zee, Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer, George Stephanopoulos, and Amy Robach.
“Changes on GMA began with the surprise departure of Sam Champion to The Weather Channel in December. Josh Elliott, meanwhile, closed a new with NBC Sports Sunday that led to GMA announcing that Robach will replace him as the newsreader.”
Michael Strahan on GMA is a positive move for GMA. He’s well-spoken and liked by so many people. It goes to show people, if you’re good at what you do, opportunities will come knocking on your door.
On Tuesday, Strahan silenced the rumors by agreeing to be a part of GMA. He received the red-carpet welcome with his arrival. Let’s all support Michael Strahan in his new venture.
