Actor and rapper, Will Smith is in the news. Don’t worry, it’s nothing negative. It’s not about a new CD. It’s not about a new movie. And it’s not about his relationship with his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.
So why is Will Smith in the news? Well, he and his family looked at a place at 640 Broadway.
The former Prince of BelAir is back in New York looking for a home. According to reports, Smith ‘visited a $19,900-a-month penthouse at 640 Broadway, known as 640 NoHo. Smith conspicuously arrived via an Escalade convoy that carried his family and entourage in tow. The crew included Will, wife Jada, daughter Willow, an assistant, a bodyguard and a broker.’
Let’s take a look at the possible new home that Smith and his family looked at.
– It has a 1,000 square-foot private roof deck which can be accessed by a steel and glass staircase.
– It has 12-foot ceilings
A small rumor has leaked out that the loft isn’t private enough. “The last time Smith lived in New York, he outraged his SoHo neighbors by planting his double-decker movie trailer digs — a $2.5 million trailer, nicknamed “The Heat”— plus another gym trailer, on the street.’
With all of the fame and fortune Smith has, it will be hard for him to find the perfect place to live. New York is a wonderful place to live with all of its happenings. You can never become bored in the ‘city that never sleeps.’
One thing Smith and his family will have to understand is that New York is very different from Hollywood. Who knows if that will be a problem in the near future?
As a FYI – Rory Nichols of Town Residential who is the listing broker for the NoHo unit has declined to comment about the progress of Smith and the potential sell.
