R&B superstar Chris Brown is in jail cooling his heels and might be stuck there for about a month or so.
However, if he wants to get out sooner he has been offered a “Get Out of Jail” card – but, it is not for free.
About a week ago, a judge ordered Brown to remain in jail to await a trial for his D.C. assault charges, after he was kicked out of a Malibu rehab center for breaking the facility’s rules.
Since then, his lawyer Mark Geragos, has been running around trying to work on a deal that might help escape confinement prematurely.
Fortunately for Chris, Geragos may have found a way to get him home, according to TMZ.
The celebrity news website states that there is a deal being finalized after Geragos met and spoke with the D.C. assault victim’s lawyer. It has been said that they are working out an out of court, civil settlement to have the charges dropped.
“We’re told Geragos may have already sealed the deal, but if not … it should be done in a day or two,” TMZ claims.
Drawing a clearer picture, the website went on to say, “So here’s the likely resolution. The alleged victim gets a ton of money (our educated guess is several hundred thousand dollars), D.C. prosecutors drop the criminal assault case and the Rihanna judge then lets Chris out of jail either late this week or early next.”
It is to be remembered that Brown was arrested after the victim claimed that Brown and his bodyguard punched him during a sidewalk argument that turned awry – reportedly not too far away from the White House.
The victim had blood on his face and shirt when officers arrived on the scene. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for a fractured nasal bone, according to police reports.
