CNN and legal analyst Sunny Hostin will debut her own legal talk show on Monday night, called “Making the Case,” according to a report on Eurweb.com.
Hostin will co-host the new show with defense attorney Mark Geragos, whom she often sparred with on a round-table show hosted by Anderson Cooper. The new show is a half-hour weekly show set to air at 10:30 pm EST, according to news reports.
Television debating is not new for Hostin, who made her reputation on Fox News by sparring with hosts Bill O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly. She’s also been a guest host of ABC’s “The View.” She has been the legal analyst for ABC’s “American Morning,” since 2007.
Hostin is a former federal prosecutor who was honored by then attorney general Janet Reno for her prosecution of sex offenders. She also covered numerous high-profile television cases.
“Sunny Hostin has covered many of the major legal and political stories of today, including the George Zimmerman, Casey Anthony and Conrad Murray trials, Bernie Madoff, Elliot Spitzer, the FLDS polygamy case, the Michael Vick dog fighting ring, OJ Simpson’s civil trial, Brittney Spears’ custody and mental illness battles, the Duke rape scandal, and many more,” her website states.
The show is supposed to run for a trial period of five weeks as part of the experiments by CNN’s chief Jeff Zucker, who is trying to revamp the cable news channel.
Hostin tweeted about the new show saying, “The secret is out! Making the Case w/ Sunny Hostin & @markgeragos debuts on Monday, March 10th at 10pm @CNN Spread the word!!”
Hostin is married and has two kids. They live in New York.
