It’s rare that Black filmmakers are given an opportunity to tap into Hollywood’s multi-million dollar marketing and production budgets to create a film. Fortunately due to the advancement of technology, Black filmmakers can attain financing through crowdfunding, which empowers everyone to create and take advantage of opportunities that would otherwise not exist.
One person who has successfully taken on this new method of creating films without a huge Hollywood budget is Spike Lee. Last year, he raised more than $1 million for an upcoming film via crowdfunding. The Your Black World Network had an opportunity to interview another Black filmmaker, Nathan Ross Freeman, who has launched a crowdfunding campaign for his upcoming film titled “The Other Way Around.” Below is information about the film and the campaign:
The Other Way Around (tOWa) is a refreshing story about a middle aged Black couple who have been … faithfully .. married for 30 years and celebrates the … incidental … but none the less eclectic and eccentric dramatic arcs long devoted marriages take. It celebrates the millions of overlooked marriages that are … good. Yet how even then, how do we hold on to the passion instead of just grow old together?
Then you will view our tOWa Development trailer and Pitch Video. A little further down you will see the pitch email I have been sending out and the link to Indiegogo where you will find comprehensive answers to any question beyond the content below.
Pay particular attention to the PERKS section. There you may find grounds for joining us in a mutually beneficial collaborative effort to push the campaign to success.
I got what you intend, appreciate it for posting .Woh I am lucky to find this web site through google.
