A fire broke out, over the weekend, in the bathroom of Kenneth Brian “Babyface” Edmonds. The fire comes after the ten-time Grammy Award winning R&B musician, singer, songwriter and record producer was honored, last month, by having a star placed for him on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California.
Although the house was occupied at the time of the fire, it is not known if the 54 year old singer was in residence when the fire broke out. Apparently the fire was quickly extinguished by an inside sprinkler system preventing more damage, although fire trucks had been called to the scene, according to reports.
According to sources, the fire broke out in the Los Angeles mansion of Edmonds on Saturday afternoon but there was very little destruction, except for water damage. No one was hurt and the cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained.
Edmonds has written and produced more that 26 number one R&B hits throughout his career and during the star studded ceremony last month in his honor on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he was supported by Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian.
Also present at the event honoring Edmonds was Usher Raymond IV (Usher), the singer, songwriter, dancer and actor and Sean “Diddy” Combs, the rapper, actor and record producer.
The songwriter, record producer and former television music competition judge, Antonio M. “L.A.” Reid also showed up to honor Edmonds during the placing of his star, as did Toni Braxton, the R&B singer/songwriter, record producer, actress and television personality who has won 6 Grammy Awards amongst other musical achievements.
Edmonds was divorced from his wife, Tracey Edmonds, in 2005. They have two sons named Brandon and Dylan Michael. Edmonds also has a five-year old daughter, Peyton Nicole Edmonds, with his current girlfriend, Nicole Pantenburg, who is a personal friend of Janet Jackson.
