Black People Can Watch ‘The Game’ but Can’t Be Models and Extras in the Show?
By: Madam Prezident
When you watch the television show ‘The Game’, I think it’s safe to say that the show is geared toward African American men and women, predominantly women. Hylton Casting Agency is responsible for providing The Game’s extras, but as you can read in the above picture—the show isn’t interested in African American models and extras.
The flyer stated
- Muscular Male Models
- Women with extensive visible tattoos
- Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic, and Multi-Racial males and females
To be exact, the company is interested in every race’s participation besides the African American race. Millions of young black girls tune to the game faithfully, but they don’t have a shot at being on the set as an extra. When the casting company sends out a list of extras they want to cast, why are African Americans not a part of the extra’s participation?
Now, I am aware of ‘The Game’s’ African American cast, but I am not rejoicing because there’s a poorly written sitcom with a black cast. The Game doesn’t produce any episodes of substance, and quite frankly the show’s momentum has deteriorated from its beginning stages on the WB network.
African American men and women are good supporters of the game and I was very disappointed when I saw Hylton Casting Company’s request. Now, I’m sure black models and extras are not going to be upset that the company prefers Caucasian, Asian, Hispanic, and Multi-Racial males and females instead of African American. They don’t care to cast you Nεgrοs, but make sure you tune in!
I do believe that all of the people responsible for The Game’s production are aware of this one dimensional, ignorance and play on colorism being displayed by Hylton Casting Agency. Black models may not be accepted as an extra, and in return black models should not tune in the next time ‘The Game’ is being broadcasted.
How does it feel, knowing you can watch the game, but if you’re visibly an African American your services as a model/extra isn’t needed?
