Tupac Shakur Biopic On the Move: Shooting Starts Next Year in Atlanta

Post By RelatedRelated Post

We all know that Tupac Shakur is considered one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time.  Of course that means that someone is going to have to make a movie about his life.  At least this project has the approval of his mother and his family is going to get some of the proceeds.

Morgan Creek Productions and Emmet Furla Films have announced that the movie is going to have a $45 million dollar budget, which is a pretty penny for a film of this nature.  But Tupac has the star power to pull it off, so the project appears to be one that is going to have a broad impact.

The biopic is going to be produced by David and James Robinson, along with LT Hutton and a few others in the industry.   But the script is still being written for the film.  What also needs to be written is the script for how Tupac died, which some think may have even been due to government or LAPD involvement.  There’s no telling how they are going to cover this aspect of Pac’s struggle.

Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother, is an executive producer on the project, and we expect it to be a banger.

Tupac died at the age of 25 after being shot down in Las Vegas in 1996.  Suge Knight, a producer who was in the car with Shakur, has claimed that he knows who killed Pac, but isn’t really spilling the beans.

No director has been selected for the film, so it will be interesting who they pick.  This is an important one, so we hope they do it right.
