MasterChef finalist Josh Marks was recently arrested in Chicago after having a violent altercation with police officers at the University of Chicago before claiming he had been possessed by Gordon Ramsay and was transformed into God. The fallout behind the arrest has resulted in many sponsors dropping Marks quickly and without remorse as a spokesperson.
TheBraiser.com reports the Make A Sound Project has dropped Marks as an official spokesperson “effective immediately.” The mind-boggling part about Make A Sound Project’s decision is the organization is dedicated to helping people with depression. “We appreciate what Josh has done for us but we’re in the market of helping people. So, we’ll keep him in our prayers,” a rep from the organization said. “But as of now Chef Marks will be dropped as a spokesman.”
The heads of New York City’s culinary fight were not so gracious: “We won’t have this man tarnish the integrity of our brand,” they stated.
Marks is currently being examined for psychiatric illness in a Chicago hospital. His parents recently released a statement about who their son really is as opposed to what people are being shown in the media.
“The Josh that you are hearing about in police reports this morning is not the spirited Gentle Giant that we know. We are working closely with medical professionals to determine if Josh’s behavior could be related to mental health symptoms. Our primary concern is Josh, his health, well-being and getting him proper treatment. Josh is an amazing, gentle and talented young man. He comes from a very close knit family; is a cum laude college graduate and very involved in the community. His family is at his side to give him any support that he needs right now.”
