Update 7/15/13: Early media reports credited Lance Gross as the author of the letter; however, Gross is not the author of the letter. Gross, like many people who read it, simply shared it on his platform. The actual author of the letter is an African-American man named Alex Fraser.
Black Hollywood actor and eye candy Lance Gross inked an open letter to George Zimmerman in the wake of the “Not guilty” verdict announced Saturday.
Gross, in a very short but thorough letter, explains that because of Zimmerman’s choice to shoot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, he will “inherit” all of the struggles every male of Trayvon’s color has to go through.
“People will cross the street when they see you coming. They will call you hurtful names. It will drive you so insane some days, that you’ll want to scream at the top of your lungs,” Gross writes in the letter screen shotted from “Notes” and posted on his instagram.
Gross then signs the letter with the statement “Sincerely, A black male who could’ve been Trayvon Martin”.
