Do you like the Wendy Williams Show? It doesn’t matter. The show is going to be on for another four years, and will remain nationally-syndicated. Apparently, Wendy is enough of a hit that the execs want to keep her on the air through 2017.
Debmar-Mercury announced a few days ago that the show is going to be renewed for the sixth, seventh and eighth seasons. That will be a nice run for the show, which seemed like it just came on the air yesterday.
“‘The Wendy Williams Show’ has as much momentum as any show on our air right now, both qualitatively and quantitatively,” says senior VP of programming for the FOX Television Stations Frank Cicha.
“Over the last few years, it’s evolved into the ideal lead-out to our morning news blocks. Like our news, the show delivers a day/date immediacy that serves as a blueprint for where we want to be the rest of the day.”
