Mariah Carey just seems to be involved in all kinds of drama these days, from her feud with Nicki Minaj to the fact that her record sales and star power are starting to fade. She isn’t a spring chicken anymore, and is working to hold on to her youth. So, maybe this move is the latest effort by Carey to hold onto her youth and become the star she once was. Randy Jackson seems like a pretty good manager to us, so it’s surprising that Carey would let her go. But maybe she knows what she’s doing.
Mariah Carey is no longer being managed by fellow American Idol judge Randy Jackson, due to “hectic” schedules. Jackson has managed Carey since 2011, and brokered her mega deal to join Idol as a judge.
It’s been a tumultuous year already for Carey, who has clashed with fellow judge Nicki Minaj repeatedly and was allegedly almost replaced by Jennifer Lopez on the show in midseason. Jackson and Carey are longtime associates, and Jackson has worked with Carey on several of her albums over the last two decades.
