Huh? Eve Wants Her Bi-Racial Kids to be Colorblind

Post By RelatedRelated Post

Is this for real?  Eve seems to feel that by having bi-racial kids, she can raise them in a world where they are colorblind.  So, what does that mean?  That they see a black person and a white person and don’t notice their race?   Is blackness so unimportant that it should be put on the backburner, like shoe size or your favorite food?  Maybe rather than raising her kids to be colorblind, Eve should be raising them to respect people for their unique ethnic backgrounds.  Also, if you raise brown kids that forget that they are black, they might be reminded of their race by a police officers billy club.

In a recent interview with Vibe Vixen, rapper Eve, who is dating white entrepreneur and racing driver Maximillian Cooper, said that she wants for her kids to be “colorblind.”

“I don’t want them to see color. I never did,” she told Vibe

“I grew up in the hood and my mother was very good at it not being a black thing, even though I grew up around all black people. I want them to want to know everything about all kinds of races.”

  1. Ooooooook

  2. That's right eve

  3. All she's saying is she wants her kids to see people equally. That is all. Stop twisting her words. Sheeh

    • Thank you. I almost posted the same thing.

    • Equality is a joke and there is no such thing in the world it is a myth. You have to first ask yourself what do we measure equality too? Also why can't we strive to have something that is superior to others?

  4. Eve can wish all she wants to, but whites are going to bring the race thing to her children, and teach them, no matter what Eve trys to teach. Is she not aware of what even President Obama is facing, daily, with regards to racist whites making it clear what they think of anyone who is even half black, as the president is. Not to speak of what they really think of pure blacks. To teach them lies or about a false world is to not be truthful to them, Eve. So while teaching them to be fair and care about all people, you certainly need to teach them that there are tons of white folks that do not care for peole that are black or even part black. And that they need to be aware of what is going on in the world, and the people that live in it. Including some that are related to whomever the white boy that you might marry, or just have babies by. For some of your mixed kids will not be liked and treated eqaully to the pure whites in the family will be treated. — Rev. George Brooks

    • I agree, Rev. Brooks. Even though she may raise her kids to be loving, compassionate, non-racist… and as “tolerant” and fair to other races of people…as can be — the society is not.

One day…her children will be confronted with the reality of white racism, discrimination, and the ugliness of the history of this nation on these aspects.

She should be more concerned with teaching them how to handle these problems, how to protect their hearts, and how to achieve despite whatever the KKK or Tea Party or White Racists may do. Our ancestors…leaders from the past …had to do that and have left a lot of wisdom for us to follow. That is much more valuable.

  5. Wants an Gets are two different things!

  6. Ok y'all totally twisted this around……

  7. People will twist your words. It sounds like she want her kids to consider everyone equal no matter what color they are. I can't blame her. I want my kids to know about all races and that we are all equal.

  8. Exactly, why do you have to be the "Nae Sayer", she wants what all parents want for their children…the world is bigger than what some of us know, why limit yourself..accept people for who and what they are, let them experience various cultures and ethnic backgrounds…God is not partial so who are you to be so?

    • Lmao!

  10. My question is to black people. If you do not see color and organize and build as a collective people. How will we ever solve our problems?

  11. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as color blind, that is the same as a male or female walking in a room and an individual not notice what gender they are. In addition, race and culture are important to growth, it provides a sense of belonging as well as a means of exploration/celebration of the different cultures.

  12. This is NOT possible because OUR president is “Bi-Racial” and they’re (european americans) giving him hell by contiued hatered they display. Not only to Americans but to the whole WORLD.

  13. She has a great ideal but society will raise they for her as it pertains to racial divides. Educating on their difference would probably be more beneficial in the future.

    • I see what she's trying to say. I think people are way too focused on everyone's race.

  14. There is also black racism…and let’s not forget the cast racism among blacks…the too brown to be black syndrome…racism exists in white, black and certainly oriental societies…I’m afraid Eve’s idea is idealistic but nothing to condemned her about…

  15. Funny……I am biracial and I see color everywhere I go….I am constantly amazed by the beauty I find in the richness and diversity of the palette of God's Children……

  16. Why would you teach your children NOT TO SEE COLOR? Willie Lynch was right in his LETTERS to the SLAVE OWNER in American WRITTEN IN 1712..She grew up in a BLACK COMMUNITY! ISN'T SHE BLACK? My, My!

  17. You notice how every so many years new words and perceptions are introduced into our lexicon and society? “Paradigm shift”, “skill set” … With that being said, being colorblind is no longer understood as a compliment to people of color. The term developed out of the consciousness of White people who never had to deal with color as significant to their existence, as Black people have. The color black was not a preferred color in the European society. To be colorblind is to lie to oneself about what is being seen. If we do not see what is in front of us we are lying to ourselves and for what? We have to teach White America about race and color, not become a party to their ignorance. We have submitted enough its time to stand and teach.
Technically “colorblind” is an impairment that means something is out of balance and needs to be corrected. Why would you now take an impairment and make it not be an impairment to push your point? One cannot make themselves colorblind its a deterioration of ocular nerves of some kind not something you do on purpose.

  18. sorry I do not believe we have met. hi my name is colorblind have you seen my children pride and prejudice?
