The well known and contreversial rapper Gucci Mane, who is no stranger to being in trouble with the law, was issued an arrest warrant after being accused of assaulting a U.S. soldier.
The victim explained to WSB-TV reporter Amy Napier Viteri that he was only attempting to take a picture with the rapper. That was when Gucci Mane attacked the soldier.
Here is a photo of a side view of the victim’s head after Gucci Mane alledgedly hit him with a champagne bottle. The incident took place last Friday night.
The soldier, who goes by the name James, informed the reporter that he approached the security gaurd in the VIP section of Harlem Nights, the club where the assault occured, located on Courtland Street in Atlanta. James asked the security gaurd if he could be pictured with Gucci Mane.
According to reports James said “I’m in the military. I wanted to get a picture with Gucci Mane, is it OK?” to the security gaurd. James told officials that while he was speaking with security that was when the rapper, whose real name is Radric Davis, hit over the head with the bottle. What a way to ruin what could have been a plesant night.
James returned home from Afghanistan in October after serving a term in the U.S. Army. The night of the incident was the soldier’s first trip to Atlanta. The trip was supposed to be a celebration of James’s birthday. What was supposed to be an night of celebration, of course, ended in violence. What would drive someone to react violently to a simple request.
James also said “And as I looked at him in the shock of why, one of his friends hit me in the side of my face.” So now Gucci Mane’s crew is attacking an innocent soldier too?!
James was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he received 10 stitches. Gucci Mane was supposed to be promoting his new mix tape but managed to only stir up more trouble for him self.
