Rapper Future Says Lil Wayne Meant No Harm With Emmett Till Lyric

lilwayne216Although Lil Wayne has yet to make a public statement of his own, rapper Future, has come to his defense. Future claims that Lil Wayne did not have any ill intentions when referencing Emmett Till in his rap song.

It was Future’s song,“ Karate Chop”, in which Lil Wayne added the lyric, which associated Emmett Till with a vulgar s** act. But Future told MTV News, on Friday, that  it was not Wayne’s intention to disrespect Till’s legacy saying, “The record it was done from a good place, good art, he ain’t have no bad intentions when he was thinking about it like that.” He went on to say, “It was used in a different way, but I understand it.”  ”So at the end of the day we’re gonna move on from it and find a way to build.”

It was Till’s cousin, Airickca Gordon-Taylor, who asked that the lyric be removed from the remix of the song. Epic Records released a statement on Thursday saying that they will go through “great efforts” to remove the “unauthorized version” from the internet. The question  is,when will this removal take place? Will it be removed before or after Epic makes a profit off of the current version?
