Rapper Acquitted After Killing Another Rapper Over Candy

Rapper Young Vito was acquitted of the murder of Brick Squad member Slim Dunkin on Monday, but was sentenced to 25 years in prison on an aggravated assault charge.
Vito (born Vinson Hardimon), dodged murder and felony murder charges in the killing of Dunkin (born Mario Hamilton, 24), who was slain in December 2011 during a fight with Hardimon at an east Atlanta studio.
While a jury acquitted Hardimon of the murder charges, he was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a handgun during the commission of a felony for the altercation that ended in Dunkin’s death.
In handing down the 25-year sentence on the gun charges, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Craig Schwall alluded to a gun incident involving Hardimon, 29, eight months before Dunkin’s death.
