Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife could be in for some tense pillow talk.
Jackson, the former Democratic congressman who’s on the verge of signing a plea agreement to resolve a corruption probe, has reportedly implicated his wife to prosecutors in the deal.
Multiple news organizations are reporting that the final plea deal could be filed as soon as Friday, and that the plea says wife Sandi Jackson was aware of his improper use of campaign funds. Sandi Jackson, who was Jesse Jackson Jr.’s campaign manager, is reportedly prepared to accept responsibility for at least some of the charges. Both face the prospect of jail time and financial penalties.Jackson has long been under scrutiny for allegedly using campaign funds for personal use, including the purchase of a $43,000 Rolex watch. He disappeared from public view for months last year while being treated for mental health issues, but still won reelection to his heavily Democratic Chicago district despite not campaigning. He resigned office shortly after winning reelection.
