DMX Arrested In South Carolina For Driving Without A License or Driving While Black?
DMX ,after all of these years, has not learned to just stay away from cars. TMZ is reporting that DMX was arrested in South Carolina, this morning for driving without a license. DMX, whose government name is Earl Simmons, was arrested around 2AM.
An officer spotted him driving a 1978 Buick and then pulled him over. Translation? The officer saw what appeared to be a black man, driving a decked out car, ran the plate, found out that DMX had no license, and then pulled him over to make his quota. It is South Carolina. But that does not excuse the fact that he was driving without a license. Nothing good ever happens to a black man in the south after 2AM.
DMX did have a few words for the local FOX station in Spartanburg, where he was held. He said, “No, I didn’t have a license … put the cuffs on me. Brought me here. I paid the money. Basically, just 5 hours wasted for nothing.” At least he was not leading police on a high speed chase or posing as a law official this time. TMZ reports that at the time of his arrest, his 5 month old daughter was in the back seat.
