Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj Save Face In Front of Press Cameras
After a much publicized battle of the divas, American Idol judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj managed to hold it together, for the sake of their fellow judges and onlookers. Appearing at the semi-annual meeting of the Television Critics’ Association, the two avoided eye contact the entire time.
While Minaj may not see eye to eye with the much more seasoned diva, she cannot overlook the fact that Carey is a powerhouse. Minaj showed Carey a little favor by calling her “one of her favorite artists of all time.” Joining the two were original Idol judge, Randy Jackson, new judge and country star, Keith Urban, and Ryan Seacrest.
Their feud has been quit the talk. Last year Minaj threatened to do harm to Carey, saying, “If I had a gun, I would shoot that b****.” The threat prompted Carey to beef up her security detail. Carey wants to put the melee behind her and focus on the Idol contestants. Carey said “The fighting is what it is. This is ‘American Idol.’ It is bigger than some stupid trumped-up thing. It’s about the next superstar … The whole thing is convoluted. It’s a distraction from the show and the contestants,”
The show airs on FOX, January 16th.
