Former Kid-N-Play Rapper Gives Obama’s Nephew Shade About His Fade
Can we say hater? Kid-N-Play’s ,Chris “Kid” Martin, was not too happy to see that the high-top fade is coming back into style. Kid took a jab at President Obama’s nephew, who sported the look at the 2nd inauguration.
The mega high top fade was made popular by the rapper back in the 90s. Kid told TMZ, “I think that flat-tops should not come back … It’s an old style that now looks stupid to me.” Kid said Obama’s nephew, Avery Robinson, needed to “get out of the time warp.”
Kid-N-Play came on the scene on the late 80s, early 90s. They are known for their dance, the Funky Charleston, first seen in their video “Gittin Funky”. It was inspired by, you guessed it, the Charleston. Although they had much success as rappers, they were more known for their House Party film franchise in the 90s, which featured such actors as Martin Lawrence, A.J. Johnson, and Tisha Campbell.
Kid drew most of the attention for the rap duo because his high-top fade measured in at 10 inches. Martin now tours as a stand-up comedian.
