3 Teens Charged With Capital Murder For Killing Over Air Jordan Sneakers

Post By RelatedRelated Post

A young man has lost his life, which is sad to hear, but it is made worse by hearing that the killing was over a pair of sneakers.

Those who have both children and money may need to reconsider whether their money will be spent on shoes which some have called overpriced or if they will encourage their children to put the money they give them towards their education or other more useful avenues.

As tensions continue to rise surrounding the recent release of the new Air Jordan XI sneakers, three young teenagers have been charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting death of another man over the shoes.

Anthony Quinn Wade, Kegan Arrington and Neal Bland reportedly approached Joshua Wood and a friend as they were sitting in his parked car on the morning of December 21 after purchasing a pair of the sneakers and demanded that they hand them over. Woods’ friend managed to exit the car to escape the ambush and seek help, but reported hearing shots fired as he ran to get help.

News One reports that the assailant allegedly tried shooting after Wood’s friend but missed.

According to police, the gunman shot at Woods who had tried to get behind the wheel of the car to escape and managed to drive away but was wounded and wound up fatally crashing between two houses and striking a gas line.

All three men charged with the murder were under the age of 20.

  1. How dumb is it to kill someone over a pair of shoes that will look warn out in a matter of months! When will we learn?

  2. SMDH

  3. Sad.

  4. Sad, pitiful and pathetic. Hoodlums of the worse kind, killing over a pair of sneakers. Ghetto hoodrats! I don't care if I pay a $1000 for my child shoes that doesn't give anyone the right to take his life because of it. As parents we work hard to give our children the finer things in life. If white people can give their children quality things why can't we do it or are we breaking our backs on a job to shop at Walmarts?

  5. This is just so pathetic. Some of our people have really gone off the deep end….and lost their minds. My teacher friend in Chicago told me that some of the students who are getting “free lunch”…come in wearing these expensive shoes.

PAST – We had architects, designers, and scientists who built great, huge structures that even modern architects cannot duplicate.
PRESENT – Now our builders are unemployed and struggling to make ends meet…but will go spend lots of money on partying and expensive gym shoes.

PAST – Our people respected & loved the Earth, Nature and environment as part of the sacred universe…and celebrated good harvests.
PRESENT – Now too many ignore the pollution, smog, and toxic waste in our neighborhoods …and say “so what…if it is wrecking the planet?”

PAST- We had scientists, inventors, scholars, and herbalists who advanced civilizations with amazing creations.
PRESENT – Now Black folks are the least educated, most imprisoned and impoverished, and sickest with AIDS and other diseases.

  6. Low self esteem, no true knowledge of self , no respect for Human life, and now their life is over due to a poor choice. Don’t blame it on the shoes , that is just a front. Good by to world and hello to a cage.

  7. This is why I will never buy my son a pair of Jordan's. Black males kill each other over senseless things and they have no regards for each others lives. I will never understand why black men do not get along and they are always killing each other and treating each other as the enemy instead of showing love to each other and trying to lift each other up. Humph.. and people have the nerve to say that black women do not get a long.

    • Stephanie I have a feelling you son will be one of the millions of Black males that don't kill each other.

  8. My prayers go out to the family and friends of the young man that was killed.
We need to teach our children better. Teach them some history. Give then some pride.
The more good things we know about each other the better of we'll be.
Before this Black man's invention all shoes were hand made.

We should be designing, manufacturing, and distributing, shoes. Not
killing each over shoes made overseas.
    It's time to Unite Us.

  9. They need to give all three of these animals the death penalty. These shoes are not worth more than $10, because they cost less than $2, to make. African American parents, need to teach our kids the real value of these things, instead of encouraging them to buy worthless objects. Real rich people, and really intelligent people, would never purchase this garbage.
