Florida A&M University has offered to pay $300,000 to the family of Robert Champion, the drum major who died last year after he was beaten during a hazing incident. The university made the offer  earlier this week after an unsuccessful mediation session between university attorneys and attorneys representing Champion’s family. The family has sued the university. The amount offered is  the maximum  FAMU can pay without seeking the Florida Legislature’s approval….

A Kenyan mother who gave birth to twin boys on Wednesday named her new-born children after the president re-elect and his defeated Republican rival. Millicent Owuor, gave birth to  her twins, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, at a hospital in the town of Siaya in southwest Kenya.
