Watch The Throne Part 2? Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle Possible Tour
Earlier this year, Chris Rock revealed that he was inspired by Kanye and Jay-Z’s collaborative “Watch the Throne” album and decided that he and Dave Chappelle should follow the hip-hop stars’ footsteps and collaborate on a joint comedy tour.
“I’ve been talking to Chappelle a lot. Been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour. You know I’m not the hard one laughing. But I’m trying to make that happen. After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, ‘Me and Dave should do this,’” Rock said in January of this year.
When Rock appeared on the “TODAY Show” to discuss the home release video of the film “Madagascar 3,” the topic of possibly touring with Chappelle was brought up during his visit. “Maybe,” Rock said. “Me and Chappelle have been working out, trying to get some stuff together. But we will see.”
THIS WOULD BE THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH BAR NONE!!! I REALLY HOPE IT HAPPENS…
h**l yeah i would support this tour if Chappelle and Rock got together. I miss the Chappelle Show like crazy, and would love to see them both team up and breathe some new life into stand up…the fans want it yall, so make this happen asap!!!
They should make this happen. They can include a ton of funny sketches, like they had on their shows. Dave Chappelle has been blackballed for a while, and Chris hasn’t been, enjoying mainstream success in movies and tv for a while now. Make it happen, guys!
Plus, they can make a movie highlighting their best moments in their tour. It’ll be bigger than “Kings of Comedy”!
