Tamera Mowry-Housley Attacked Over Politics on Twitter
It seems that if you’re a celebrity and have any opinions about the 2012 Presidential Campaign and politics, it’s best not to take those opinion to Twitter. Recently, Tamera Mowry-Housley learned that lesson the hard way when she re-tweeted a message about the debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Representative Paul Ryan.
It was while watching the debate that Mowry-Housley retweeted a tweet that was commenting on how combative the debate was becoming. The tweet came from Fox News Channel anchor Greta Van Susteren. It said,
“I think I might turn this off if it were not my job to watch it…the interruptions make it impossible to learn anything.”
When she retweeted the comment, the“Sister, Sister” and “Tia & Tamera” star added her own comment,
“That’s all I’ma say about the debate.
God bless us, everyone.”
The retweet by Mowry-Housley was all it took to start a series of tweets in response to her comments on the debate. The following are the tweets that responded:
Tweeter: “sister sister are republicans? l***o”
Tweeter: “…you surprised? Tamera is married to a white fox news reporter. lmao. -tries to act surprised-”
Tweeter: -___- he not even hott enough to be crossing over to the dark side for doe.”
Tweeter: “Soooo Tamera is married to a white man… You light skinned hoes boy… He’s a funny lookin white boy too..”
The reality star noticed what was happening and tweeted,
“All I said was I hate ppl interrupting people. And I got a ton of tweets assuming who I was voting 4 and racist remarks becuz of my husband— Tamera Mowry-Housley (@TameraMowryTwo)”
A more sypathetis follower tweeted,
“I can’t believe people are harassing @TameraMowryTwo because she made a harmless comment and is married to a white man.”
Mowry-Housley’s husband,Adam Housley, who is also a Fox News Channel correspondent, came to his wife’s defense with two tweets, tweeting,
“Seriously?! You attack my wife @TameraMowryTwo because she said people were talking over each other. Then assume who she’s voting for”
“Then make racist/rude comments 2 @tameramowrytwo because she married a white man who works for Fox?! You should be ashamed of yourselves.”
While Mowry-Housley’s tweets did not really express support for either of the two presidential candidates, one would think that celebrities would be more careful about what they say about politics since ‘Clueless’ Actress Stacey Dash Ignited a firestorm after she endorsed Mitt Romney.
She and her Fox News’ husband are going to get attacked by black folks. Her statement impliied a diss to the democrat. Black folks are not going to let that slide. Any republican from Fox News is considered the enemy of black folks.
well I am one Black female that don’t care who she votes for or endorse. Isnt that the whole reason our culture fought to have the right to choose and have their own opinion? Don’t say all blacks bash her, I have a lot of white family members which one of them is my nephew. Are any of you forgetting that she is also half white? Stop making politics about race. would if obama would had married a white women like his mother? would any of you like him any less?
jus sayin!!!
I have been a fan of Tia & Tamera since Sister Sister days. When Tamera’s husband said that and Tamera retweeted it, i was confused then she retweeted some other stuff I had to unfollow her for a sec, Tamera it’s not you the reason why I unfollowed you it’s your husband, Adam. Just some things he been saying that you retweeted got to me.
I’ve learn several excellent stuff here. Certainly price bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how so much effort you put to create the sort of great informative site.
