In a recent interview with a DJ in Cleveland, President Obama was asked if he offered first-time father Jay-Z any parenting advice for he and Beyonce’s first child, Blue Ivy Carter. “I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyonce out (with the baby),” President Obama replied. “And not leaving it all with the mom and mother-in-law.”
News about President Obama making sure Jay-Z helped Beyonce with their first child does not come as a shock to fans of the recording stars. Earlier this year, Beyonce penned an open letter to First Lady Michelle Obama thanking her for being a role model. Also, First Lady Michelle Obama said she’d love to trade places with Beyonce for a day, if given the opportunity. President Obama recently said Beyonce is a great role model for his daughters Sasha and Malia, and Jay-Z has at least one song where he mentions having frequent contact with the President.
In addition to revealing that he assisted Jay-Z with raising Blue Ivy Carter, President Obama told the Cleveland DJ that Jay-Z and Beyonce are good friends of the family. “I’ve gotten to know these guys over the first several years,” he said. “They’re good people. They’re down to earth. Beyonce could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they’re good friends. They’re really down-to-earth folks. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends.”
