Oprah’s Father Vernon Winfrey’s Divorce Getting Nasty

Oprah Winfrey’s father,Vernon Winfrey, is divorcing his wife, Barbara Winfrey, after 11 years of marriage and unfortunately, it has turned ugly.

According to court documents filed this week, the 79 year old barbershop owner admitted that he was guilty of infidelity. He also admits that he may have run after his 64 year old wife, threatening her with a gun.

It seems as though the main issue in the divorce is money; more specifically, his daughter, Oprah Winfrey’s money.

Court documents show that the Nashville barber claims to only make $282 a month from his barbershop. The court documents also said that Winfrey’s bank account was overdrawn.

Meanwhile, Winfrey and his wife have been living in a $1.5 million mansion in suburban Nashville, courtesy of his media queen daughter, Oprah. His wife, Barbara,  claims that he gets $25,000, every three months, from a trust fund that Oprah set up for him.

Barbara wants to stay in the mansion and she wants Vernon to pay her alimony.

The couple filed for divorce last summer, citing irreconcilable differences.

When the couple got married in  2000, Barbara had been married twice before that, making her marriage to Vernon her third marriage. Vernon had been married once before as well.

Maybe Mrs. Winfrey should have considered that if she parted ways with Oprah’s father, she would probably have to part ways with Oprah’s money.
