Nick Cannon Comes to Mariah’s Defense in Beef with Nicki Minaj

Nick Cannon probably feels that it’s his job to protect his wife whenever necessary, even if she’s the one who caused the drama in the first place.  He got into it with rapper Eminem a few years ago after he called out Mariah from one of their sexcapades, and now he’s going after Nicki Minaj.

Cannon talks about the recent video that shows Mariah and Nicki going at it like cats and dogs.

“My wife is the strongest and classiest woman that I’ve ever met, if you watch the video, she just maintains her composure,” the “America’s Got Talent” host said.” “I don’t think she’s moved by the theatrics and pageantry of it all. She signed up to do a job to help young people … this is like a sidebar. I hope that’s not what this show becomes, about the catfights … [she] signed up to be a mentor on a show that is about people accomplishing their dreams.”

The host of Access Hollywood then asked Cannon if he thinks that Nicki is jealous of Mariah’s achievements, he said, “You read the script!”

During the crazy fight, Minaj threatened to knock out Carey.  That’s when Nick got defensive of his wife’s public attacks.

“She called me and we were talking about the kids … at the end of the day she’s a mom and that’s my wife … we got diapers to change and kids to raise.”

There was also speculation that Minaj told Carey that if she had a gun, she would shoot her.  But the producers of the show deny that this ever happened.

“It was intense, I’ll be honest with you,” Ryan Seacrest said on his radio show. “It did go too far, to the point where the producers said, ‘Let’s call it a day.’”
