Michael Strahan:”I’m not an adulterer. I’m not gay…I didn’t beat anybody.”
It seems Michael Strahan and his wife-to-be, Nicole Murphy can’t catch a break when it comes to all the rumors that are circulating about them.
The former New York Giants football player is not only dealing with rumors about his current relationship, but he also had to finally address the rumors about his previous marriage which ended in divorce in 2006. During the divorce proceeding between Strahan and his ex-wife, Jean Muggli, she accused him of “videotaping her sister, beating her, and repeatedly cheating.” When Muggli was awarded $15 million in the divorce settlement, it only fueled the rumors with many believing that they must be true. Strahan’s ex-wife was also awarded $18k per month for child support.
The new host of the talk show “Live with Kelly and Michael” appeared on “Real Sports” to share his side of the story with the show’s host, Bryant Gumbel. He said,
“I think early on when you’re reading all these things in the paper that aren’t true — I’m not an adulterer. I’m not gay. I mean, I didn’t beat anybody.”
Gumbel pointed out that the accusations were very nasty but did not seem to affect Strahan’s popularity, saying,
“The thing that I find the most surprising about it is in retrospect, your public image didn’t take a hit.”
The other rumor that affected Strahan was about his current fiance, Nicole Murphy, who is also Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife.
Murphy appeared in rapper London’s video “No Panties” and some texts that they are said to have exchanged were enough to start some rumors about a romantic exchange behind Strahan’s back.
Both Strahan and Murphy have denied the rumors and even took to Twitter to address the rumors.
London also dismissed the rumors saying,
“I don’t know what’s the controversy. She’s a sexy lady … If they have anything going on it has nothing to do with me.We had great chemistry on set but everything was professional.”
